Boyce’s Motel Guestbook Location: Green Island, NY Posted October 19, 2011 9:31 am Vicky CarmelloMy girlfriend and I planned a vacation to Maine two summers ago to visit her cousin. We decided to stay in Stonington at Boyce's Motel. Barrett was a wonderful host and his motel was just lovely. We had such a wonderful time that we went back this past May and stayed again at Boyce's. We both just love it there. The town is so quaint which is what we both like. No hassles and quiet. It is my favorite place to stay and Barrett is the most gracious host. I will never forget my trip in May. I had brought a HUGE pan of baked beans with me and some how must have hit a bump and spilled the entire pan in my trunk. It was the worst mess you ever saw. Barrett shoveled out the beans and scrubbed my trunk good as new. We can laugh about it now but OMG! I was still picking beans out of my clothes for a week. He is the greatest. Left my car lights on all night and killed the battery..again Barrett to the rescue. I picked up one for Boyce's Motel and totally changed our plans and headed to Stonington wince we had never been there. What a great decision! Barrett was so nice. Our room was very clean and the price was really reasonable. The town was so spectacularly beautiful we decided to spend 2 nights so we could explore the surrounding areas. We had never been before and we thought Boyces seemed like a nice place to stay. Well needless to say we were right! Barrett was personable and always there to help with any question we had. The staff was extremely accomodating and helpful to the point of allowing us to put up our tent to dry it out and to keep our car in their parking lot late into the afternoon of our check-out day. The room, while small, had everything we needed and wanted and was exceptionally clean. I can't wait for our next visit; I want to stay for a week! Barrett knows how to treat people. One of our trips was out of Stonington. Our trip was made even better by staying with Barret at Boyce's Motel. We had to stay an extra night because of hurricane Earl and Barret had already rented the room we were in. However, he had an apartment available and told us to go on our boat trip and he would move everything to our new location. When we came back, what a wonderful surprise. Our only sorrow was we had not rented this apartment the whole time. The rooms were clean, the service was great, and Barret's recommendations were very helpful. He is a wonderful host.
